Devils developing resistance?
The Alpine Field Monitoring Program at Cradle Mountain in Tasmania's north-west has recorded a 6% decline in the numbers of DFTD-infected Tasmanian devils.
Although this does not guarantee that devils are developing resistance to DFTD, the observation is significant and warrants further research.
Cradle Mountain is located approximately at the midpoint between the slightly genetically different east and west devil populations.
