DFTD may have reached mainland
A female devil has been discovered at Healesville Sanctuary to have a lump on its mouth. Although Save the Tasmanian Devil Program manager Steven Smith regards it highly unlikely to be DFTD, strict procedures require that all unexplained lumps "be thoroughly investigated".
The discovery has postponed a scheduled transfer of four devils from Healesville to the Australian Reptile Park at Gosford, New South Wales.
